TARDIS Mouse Ears

A new season of Doctor Who started this past Saturday.  It was the twelfth Doctor's first full episode and he is played by Peter Capaldi.  Although he's different and older than the last few, he still embodies everything I love about the Doctor so I was pleasantly surprised!  I'm looking forward to the next episode.  In celebration of the new season starting, I am sharing my TARDIS mouse ears with you all!

I made these using Minnie ears that my family gave me for my birthday.  They were already the perfect TARDIS blue and even had the pretty silver bow on it.  I printed out the sign, windows, and TARDIS onto cardstock and then taped it to the ears.  I also used some star garland that I had and I wrapped it around the headband.  In the end I had mouse ears that represented two of my favorite things- Disney and Doctor Who!  I wore them at Disneyland and even received some compliments on them.  It's always fun to meet other Whovians!

What do you think?  Are you looking forward to the next episode?  Do you like the new Doctor so far?

  1. Luv the ears! They are definitely a perfect TARDIS blue. It was so creative to decorate them. I really like the star garland. Your Belle and TARDIS shirt is awesome too. And the socks:D I wasn't sure what to expect from Capaldi with such an age jump. I think the episode addressed his older appearance in such an interesting and intelligent way. He was great and I can't wait to see more.

    1. Thanks! The star garland was left over from Christmas decorations- I have a lot of it so it was nice to put some of it to use! hehe. I also use it to decorate the apartment when we watch any new Doctor Who. :) I agree- I like how they addressed the age jump too! Looking forward to the next one! :)

  2. I really liked your Tardis Mouse ears when I saw them and I'm glad that you shared how you made them. I'm okay with Capaldi. He's only been in one episode so it's hard to already say that I like him or don't like him. I will say that I did like how the episode addressed the change. I felt like it was talking to the audience and Clara was the audience. We all know he's super old but I guess under Matt Smith and David Tennant we just sort of forgot about that. I also like how they sort of hinted at the fact that we've seen Capaldi before. I wonder where they'll go with that.

    1. Thanks! I liked that they addressed the change also (and that they sort of fixed Matt's exit!). I was worried Capaldi would be a bad fit from the start but was relieved when I ended up enjoying it. I agree about Clara being like the audience. It was a smart way to do the episode and I think it helped with the transition a lot. I liked the references to prior seasons also because I think it helped with the change too. I was so happy that he seemed to recognize his face- I felt that his role in the Pompeii episode was too big to not acknowledge it. I'm curious to see where that goes too!
