World of Disney Renovations

Some renovations on the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney were recently completed.  The changes were made in the section that has stationary, stuffed animals, and other miscellaneous souvenirs. It used to be decorated with an Alice in Wonderland theme.

After the renovations the section is now decorated with pictures from several different Disney movies.

The area around the registers is still Alice In Wonderland themed

What do you think of the changes?  I liked how it looked before but the new decor is good too!  There's definitely a lot to look at!
(Don't forget I'm going to announce the blog's first Giveaway tomorrow evening!)

Easter Duffy and Other Holiday Duffys

I'm going to try to do merchandise posts on Mondays- "Merchandise Mondays"!   For today, I thought I would share some pictures of the new Easter themed Duffy the Disney Bear that is now have available at Disney California Adventure.  I must admit I think he's a bit too expensive (they recently raised the price of the stuffed animal Duffys and Duffy outfits) but he's so darn cute I had to put up a picture!

Here are some of the other holiday/special occasion Duffys they've had at California Adventure:

Birthday Duffy!

St. Pattys Day Duffy

I haven't seen him in a while but they also had Valentine's Duffy!
I hope everyone has a great week!  I'm going to announce the first So Disney! giveaway on Wednesday!  I'm really excited about it!

Plans for So Disney!

I've disappeared the last week or so.  Work has been pretty busy and I have been getting home tired and not wanting to look at the computer.  That is no excuse though!  I will try to do better!  This bear will make sure I do!

I promised on So Disney's birthday to do a post about my upcoming goals for the site so here are a few things I have planned.

Goals and Plans for So Disney! :

1.  Giveaways-  I really would like to start doing occasional giveaways on the site.  I actually got something recently that I plan to give away very soon!  My plan is to have followers of the blog leave comments regarding a question and then I would randomly pick a winner.  I haven't figured out all the details yet but keep coming back for a chance to win free stuff!

2.  Now at Disneyland and Now at DCA links- I have recently created two new tabs on the bar under the header on this site that are called "Now at Disneyland" and "Now at DCA".  These links are meant to be an easy way for people to easily get to posts that discuss what is currently going on at the parks.  I'm still working on these and I hope to be able to update it regularly.  I'm working on something similar for the "Disney Merch" tab.

3. Themed Days/Weeks-  I was thinking of having a couple days a week that are themed like Photo Fridays or Merchandise Mondays or maybe a day that features food at Disneyland.  I'm still deciding on this.

4.  Guest Posts-  I'm hoping to have occasional guest posts from friends and anyone who is interested in submitting anything!  My fiance' Jared is going to be posting something soon that I think will be a great read!

So those are a few ideas I'm currently working on.  If there is anything that you are particularly excited about or interested in, please let me know!  Also if there is anything you'd like to see on the site please comment or send me an email (nerissa@sodisney.com).
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the upcoming giveaway. Tell your friends!   I plan on announcing the item and details sometime this week!

St. Patty's Day Tomorrow!

Last year on St. Patrick's Day, I did a post listing where adults can enjoy a cold beer while visiting the Disneyland Resort.  I thought since tomorrow's St. Patty's Day, I'd repost an updated version of that list since some of the locations are now closed, reopened, or being renovated!
There are several restaurants in Downtown Disney District.  There's Uva Bar, ESPN Zone, Tortilla Jo's, House of Blues, Rainforest Cafe, and more. A lot of these locations have special drinks for tomorrow.  There's also the restaurants and bars at the Disneyland Resort Hotels.

ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney
At California Adventure there's also a few places.
Here's the list:
Taste Pilot's Grill- Want a beer to go with your burger? Here's the place to go! It's located right next to Soarin' Over California.
Ariel's Grotto- This location looks like a restaurant that is only for those in the mood for a large, expensive dinner but don't be fooled! There's actually a nice bar and seating area in the back where you can also just sip on a cold beer while enjoying a view of Paradise Bay.

Terrace Wine Tasting- Next to the Wine Country Trattoria, there's an area with a bar that serves wine and beer. It's a nice quiet spot to take a break from the crowds and lines.  You can also get beer at the Wine Country Trattoria restaurant.

Karl Strauss Truck- This spot doesn't really have a name that I know of so I call it the Karl Strauss Truck. It is located in the Pacific Wharf in the dining area between Boudin's Bakery Tour, Mission Tortilla Factory, and The Lucky Fortune Cookery. Here they have a selection of Karl Strauss beers that you can purchase and enjoy while snacking on some sourdough bread or tacos.

ElecTRONica- This is just open on the weekends (Friday-Sunday) but on those nights, you can get a beer here as well!

Have a happy St. Patty's Day!

Sailor Mickey at DCA

There's a new gazebo by Paradise Bay at California Adventure.  It has flags that match the nearby location where you can find Duffy the Disney Bear.

At the gazebo you can find Sailor Mickey!

I heard they might have Duffy join him but I'm not sure if that's true.  It's already neat to get a picture with Sailor Mickey but Sailor Mickey and Duffy?  That'd be pretty cool!

Platypus Day

It's Platypus Day on Disney Channel and they've been having a marathon of Phineas and Ferb episodes today.  Phineas and Ferb stars everyone's favorite platypus, Perry, who in his spare time is a secret agent named     Agent P!
To celebrate Platypus Day, here's a clip from Phineas and Ferb that features Perry!

New Disneyland Candy

Last week I noticed these boxes of candies at Disneyland.  I saw them at the Candy Palace on Main Street and at Greetings from California in California Adventure.  I think they make fun souvenirs for friends and there are several to pick from!

This one is my favorite! I bought one and the candy is pretty good too!

Which one is your favorite?
