I really love the Electrical Parade more than any other Disneyland parade I have ever seen. I love it so much that I actually went to dance auditions for it last year. I didn’t get selected but I was so happy to just be trying out for it that it didn’t matter. I still remember seeing the parade the time I went to Disneyland when I was 8 years old. I watched it again when it returned to the park a couple years ago and it was just as magical as it was when I was a kid.
The parade is quite an experience- its popular intro starts off with the robotic sounding voice (done with the vocoder voice effect). After the introduction, all the lights go out. Here's a link to a YouTube video of the intro:

I think that the beginning is definitely my favorite part of the parade because there’s nothing like the anticipation you feel as the intro begins and the lights go out. After this great intro, you hear the parade's catchy song and you can see the colorful floats with their many lights heading your direction.
Here's my video of one of the floats:

They recently changed the Electrical Parade in 2009 with the addition of a Tinkerbell float. It was nice but I missed having the Blue Fairy at the start of the parade. I also missed the Dumbo float.
If you get there early and get a good spot to watch the parade, you really get to see the characters and floats up close. There are these floats shaped like animals such as turtles and bumblebees that I really like because they spin quickly in circles and make fun buzzing sounds.
Here’s a video of the bumblebee:
The Disney Electrical Parade is really a treat to see! I was so happy that I got to take some of my family to see it at last year’s Summer Nightastic. For those of you in Florida, the parade will be a part of Disney World’s Summer Nightastic this year.
The Electrical Parade is currently at California Adventure and usually starts at 9pm. Be sure to check the Entertainment Daily Calendar on the Disneyland website before you go to the park to double check the time and if they will be having it that day.

Don’t forget the last day for the parade in California is April 18th. So if you want to see it, make sure to visit California Adventure before then!
