Before I dive into writing about some of the neat stuff I got to check out at Disney World, I wanted to write about my Dapper Day experience at Disneyland the weekend after I got back! Dapper Day is a day where many Disneyland guests go to Disneyland dressed in their finest! Back when Disneyland first opened people would dress more formally to go to the park instead of the shorts and sneakers you see today. You can see it in older photos and in the original concept art of Disneyland. Dapper Day is a nod to that and it really feels like you stepped back in time because there are so many folks who dress up! It’s not organized by Disney but all the Cast Members seem aware of it and it’s a lot of fun. As you might remember I went to
the spring event last year and had a great time! I had a wonderful time this year as well!
Unfortunately I was not able to check out any of the Dapper Day scheduled events but there were so many people dressed up that I was able to still see many guests in incredible outfits! There were a lot of people dressed up when I went last year but I think there may have been more this time! It was fun to see a lot of people had planned their outfits based on Disney characters and there were even some men dressed as Walt Disney!
My favorite part of the day was getting to see my very dapper friends! I met two of them at Carthay Circle’s lounge where we had drinks perfect for us fashionable ladies!
Two of my furry friends were there too and they also were dressed in their finest!
I ran into more of my Disney bride pals on my way out who also looked great in their dapper attire!
After meeting up with my friends I had to head out but I had gotten there so early I was still able to do several rides that morning. It was definitely really windy when I got there though! I almost didn’t dress up because for me wind + a dress = too much work for this jeans and a t-shirt gal! I toughed it out though and was glad I did!
Here I am by the Jungle Cruise. My purple coat came in handy because it was so cold!
I also sported my Dapper Dans inspired nail art! You can read more about it at
Pixie Dust Nails.
I didn’t run into the Dapper Dans like I did last year but my husband and I did get to see some other characters!
I also got to visit Merida from
Brave! My favorite photo of the day was one of the pictures I got with her. Here we are in our most ladylike pose.
