Disneyland's Kickin' Country Weekend

If you've been to Disneyland recently you may have noticed that there are no parades right now. Disneyland will have a new parade called Mickey's Soundsational Parade that will start in the spring. Until then Disneyland is offering entertainment with "Family Fun Weekends" that takes place in the Festival Arena.

I missed the Fiesta Disneyland weekend but was able to catch the Kickin' Country Weekend.  Being from Texas, I couldn't resist!  They had live music, dancing, cloggers, and BBQ sauce on sale.  But my favorite was that I saw some fun characters all dressed up in their country best!

The next family fun weekend is Character Fan Weekend (Jan. 28-30) which will feature rarely seen characters that include the Seven Dwarves, Wendy, Mr. Smee, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, Esmeralda, Clopin, King Louie and Baloo. They will be taking turns appearing at the Festival Arena throughout the day.  If you're at Disneyland that weekend, make sure to stop by! You'll go home with a camera full of great pictures!

California Adventure Entrance

If you have been to California Adventure one of things you may remember are the tall letters spelling out the word "California" at the entrance to the park.

The letters were a popular picture spot for guests. I have several fun pictures of my family and friends in front of their favorite letters.

Over the past few months, construction has begun on the new entrance for DCA and the mural just inside the park was removed.  Last week, the construction began on the removal of the "California" letters.  A wall was put up around the letters to hide the work being done.  The wall was very plain the first time I saw it.

No more mural inside the park and a big wall surrounding the letters.

A couple days later when I went back the wall was covered with many of my favorite Disney old cartoon characters!

2010 was a great year and one of the greatest things about it was starting this blog!  That is why the first post Saludos Amigos was also one of my favorites because it started it all!  It's been great to find a creative outlet that allows me to share how much I love all things Disney!  It's also been wonderful getting to meet other Disney fans online through the blog!
